An Accidental Breakthrough

I was talking to ChatGPT tonight about coding. I really didn’t even know what coding was, and somehow that conversation turned into talking about making an app for Sweet Breeze.

We started listing everything that could be in it. Schedules, job information, checklists, training videos, before and after photos, clocking in and out, job updates, supplies, maintenance, employee availability, etc.

It sounded good.

But then I looked at that list as an employee instead of as the owner.

I would not want to do all of that every time I went to work. 😂

And that’s when we realized we had accidentally stumbled into a completely different conversation.

These are the things that actually matter to me:

Everyone knows their schedule and job information

I know arrival time, departure time and total time

Jobs are done to our standards

Photos are taken when necessary

Everyone can make decisions without needing help whenever possible

I get updates about supplies, equipment, and maintenance or issues at the properties we take care of

I know everyone’s availability

That’s really it.

I don’t want to make working for Sweet Breeze more complicated just to accomplish those things.

I want us to figure out how to get the information we need, keep our standards high, and keep everyone on the same page without adding a bunch of extra work for the team.

It was kind of funny because none of this was what I was trying to figure out tonight. I was literally just asking what coding was. 😂

But I think we accidentally figured out something pretty important about how I want Sweet Breeze to operate.

An accidental breakthrough. ❤️
